Yes, there is good and good people in this world. Don’t believe it if you hear otherwise!
This is never so clearly illustrated to me as when I travel abroad.
I like traveling alone sometimes because I do meet the nicest persons that way…maybe it is that being alone makes one approachable?..Who knows…?
So, here I was traveling in the European continent, and I couldn’t help but notice the kindness of people around me. I consider it a privilege to be able to experience these moments and I never forget it.
From the cab driver in London that stopped to have ice cream with me on the way to my hotel near St. Paul’s, to the unexpected company of my friend’s daughter (who is living in London). It was a treat, lovely, and kind of her to dedicated her evening to me.
London to North Holland…then to Malaga, Spain… and finally Mallorca. I lost count of how many amazing and generous people I met along the way. Specially those that opened their homes to me. It never ceases to surprise me how welcoming people are.
After arriving in Mallorca, I suddenly received a phone call from a stranger telling me that he had found my passport card. Apparently it had somehow ended up in his luggage. We cannot figure out how it happened! At that moment, I had not yet noticed it missing.
It humbles and amazes me when someone goes out of the way to help out and do the right thing. I like to think that I would do the same if the case was reverse. In fact, I know I will… because that is what happens when someone is kind…it is then paid forward.
As this kind stranger told me he tells his children…“the right thing to do is not always convenient, easy, or fun…but it’s never wrong!”
I love that phrase❣️
