Not A Priority

I hear this phrase often , “I just don’t have time”…and it could be that you are telling that to yourself or to someone else. It doesn’t matter because it’s actually a story we are telling at the moment…yes…the reality is that it’s always our choice. We choose on who or what we dedicate time to.

What I mean by that is that we will always make time for that that interests us, but somehow we won’t have time for that that doesn’t. It’s just that simple.

If we were honest with ourselves and others, we would say, “It’s not that I don’t have the time…it’s really that it’s not a priority to me”.

That’s true for relationships as well. I hear sometimes friends say… “Oh, he is very busy with work… so he just doesn’t have time to call…” 🙄

Really?… how busy can one person be that he doesn’t have time to call for a two minute conversation? Or even a 20 second text?

I feel like saying “My friend.. wake up! You are not a PRIORITY… ”…plain and simple! No time = not important = not a priority.

It’s also a fact that when we put off something we need to do, it may be because it’s just not that important to us. It’s a choice we make. For example, let’s say that you continue to put off going to the doctor. It may be then that you don’t make your health a priority.

Personally, I love my bedsheets ironed (they do feel so much nicer!) but I don’t have the inclination to iron them. So I won’t! I will however, wash them, load them in my car, take them somewhere to have them ironed, and then go back to pick them up. I don’t mind paying for it; and I don’t mind the time or inconvenience it may cause me…why? Simple…because it’s a priority to me. Yes. We all make time for our priorities in life.

Yes, it’s great to feel that you are a priority. Because when you have lived enough to be able to recognize it…then you know the difference; and then, once you do, why would you ever accept anything else? 😉
