“It Looks Greener… Doesn’t It?

I was reading an article that said “comparison is the thief of happiness”…and it prompted me to think.

“The grass always looks greener on the other side” is something we hear all the time. Looks is the operating word there…meaning it is just an appearance. The reality is that once you get near, it could turn out to be artificial grass; or we realize it is riddled with bugs.

Envy is a natural human feeling but it is also short sighted and it will rob you of enjoying the moment.

Let’s say you are on a little boat and found a beautiful beach…you get in the crystal clear water and say “Life can’t get better than this!”. Just then a big luxurious yacht comes near the same beautiful beach… you look at it and wish you were there instead. That feeling robbed you of your moment of bliss.

The reality is that someone in that big boat might be thinking… “Gosh I wish I had that little boat so that I could reach that beautiful beach easier”…

To envy is just silly.
